A Rochester school union is pitching in money to help the family of a crossing guard killed by a hit and run driver. The Bente Union, which represents nearly 15-hundred support staff workers, is pledging one thousand dollars to the family of Arlene Page and its asking other school unions to do the same. Page was struck and killed Tuesday morning at the corner of Dewey and Bloss... A 19-year old man is charged in her death. Page was a long time crossing guard at School 30 and also was a cafeteria worker at School 34. The City of Rochester has already pledged to pay up to $10,000 for the wake and funeral costs.
