150lb bear captured lurking near homes

bear2007-10-19-1192826483.jpgThe Department of Enviromental Conservation has caught a Black Bear near Braddock Bay. The DEC set up a trap near Manitou Beach Road after the 150lb. cub was reported to be getting too close to homes. Investigators do think this is the same bear from a few months ago seen in the Parma, Ogden area. The DEC says the bear cub was probably looking to fatten up before hibernation. It has been relocated to a more forested area.
