It was the talk of the radio airwaves. Bob Matthews Thursday night huddle on WHAM 1180 was abuzz about a possible Buffalo move. "Let's start off with the big news today out of Orchard Park,” Matthews said to his listeners.
News of a pre-season and regular season game across the border is raising a lot of questions about the bills future in Buffalo.
"I would not be surprised if they end up playing one regular season game in Toronto every season. If it was anymore than one I'd be ticked off!” said Matthews.
Speculate is about all anyone can do right now, but that didn't stop the phone lines from lighting up.
"I have no problems with the Buffalo Bills playing a game, one game in Toronto. I think it'll generate a lot of excitement. If the ferry was around it might help things a little bit better,” one caller said.
"I definitely like the idea instead of going toward Canada and actually moving it more toward Rochester and the Batavia area,” said another.
At the official Buffalo Bills store at the Eastview mall in Victor the news rattled fans.
"This is scary. It's the first I've heard of it,” said Larry McKee.
Longtime fan Larry McKee would consider a move across the border a betrayal to fans here in western New York.
"When we support them with 73,000 fans every game with a bad team for the past 3 or 4 years it's kind of disheartening,” said McKee.
