A Rochester home day care operator is now facing felony assault charges stemming from an incident in which she allegedly sedated kids she was caring for.
A Monroe County grand jury indicted 58-year-old Ana Powers on three felony counts of assault and 10 misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Powers ran the Guardian Angel Day Care out of her home on Clay Ave. She allegedly put cold medication into strawberry milk and served it to kids to calm them down.
Police say this went on from Jan. 1 through July 10. She was arrested in July. The felony charges carry a maximum sentence of 7 years behind bars.
