dogabuse_dog22007-10-17-1192646247.jpgAnimal cruelty charges are pending against an Orleans County man. Humane Society investigators seized 35 dogs from the home of Charles Spinks in the Town of Gaines. Authorities say the animals were living in unsanitary conditions. Investigators say the dogs were being kept on short chains outside, or in small cages on the property. The dogs are now being cared for at Lollypop Farm in Fairport. The dogs suffered from a variety of ailments, including emaciation, flea infestation and chemical burns on their feet from stainding in their own waste. Lollypop Farm says Spinks agreed to surrender all but seven of his dogs.
