James Slater funeral held Friday

Slater_James2007-10-12-1192204324.jpgHundreds gathered Friday to say a final goodbye to community activist James Slater, gunned down last week during an apparent robbery on Barons Street. The funeral was held at the Baber AME Church on Meigs Street.
 
Slater was returning from a community meeting when he was killed. Yesterday, police announced two arrests in the case.
 
Nineteen-year-old Henry Cox and 18-year-old Darnell Norton have both been charged with second-degree murder.
 
Slater's funeral, is scheduled for this morning at 11:00 at Baber AME Church on Meigs Street in Rochester. Slater was 49.
