It was a gift like never before for the Seneca Park Zoo today philanthropist John Riedman, founder of the Riedman Foundation, gave the zoo a half million dollars. It's the largest donation in the zoo's history. The money is going toward "A Step Into Africa", an exhibit that will focus on lions and primates.
"We are increasing the size of the zoo by almost 50 percent - when people come here they are thinking this was a small zoo now we are really growing and expanding and changing," said Rachel Baker August, executive director of the Seneca Park Zoo.
The zoo is still looking to the community to raise 4 million dollars needed to finish the exhibit.
