Columbus Day Parade

The Flower City is known for its festivals and parades and this weekend it can add another one to the list.

Thursday, Rochester leaders announced the city's first Columbus Day Parade. The parade will be held this Saturday at 12:30. It will start on

East Avenue

and end on

East Main Street

. RIT’s former president Al Simone will lead the way.

Mayor Bob Duffy says the parade is a celebration of the city's Italian -American heritage.

Columbus Day is officially this Monday, October 8th.
