A Rochester man who ran over a city police officer nearly three years ago is back in court again. 34-year old James Extale appealed his DWI conviction. Extale was originally sentenced to 21 years in prison for running down police officer Nicole Cookinham. Police say Extale drove drunk and ran down Cookinham while she was standing near her patrol car on Galusha Street. At the time, his drivers license was revoked due to two prior DWI convictions.
