centrilogic2007-09-19-1190240390.jpgA Canadian company is settling into it's new brand new digs in Rochester. Centrilogic has more than 50 video surveillance cameras and some of the tightest security you'll find in the area.

"One way of looking at it is like providing a safety deposit box for computers," says Centrilogic President and CEO Robert Offley.

There are rows and rows of storage, but a simple lock and key won't get you access to what's here…all of it critical and private information for companies.

"It's difficult for companies to put the infrastructure in place, to do that themselves, so we do that for our customers and we meet all the standards for doing that," says Offley.

Centrilogic is the latest company to bring its business to Rochester. Opening its 22,000 square foot data center with about 50 employees. The building features more than 50 surveillance cameras as well as on-site security. Even the environment is monitored...temperature and humidity are strictly maintained.

Here they can store crucial data for companies like your credit card information  It's data those companies want to protect which is one of the reason why Centrilogic chose here in Rochester as there U.S. headquarters.

"Rochester is seen as a very safe place for them to store their data," says Offley.

Especially for businesses in big cities like Chicago, Boston and New York...bigger city equals bigger threat to security. With some big companies finding customer information stolen by hackers - Centrilogic is hitting a key market. Offley says schools like RIT and U of R also attracted them to Rochester. With technology constantly changing...fresh minds are key.

"For businesses to get those special skill sets and keep training their people is a constant challenge, so taking the brightest brains from some of the best universities in the US, this is a huge opportunity to bring new people in," says Offley.

Centrilogic is based in Toronto. The company does plan to hire more at its new Rochester location.
