Tree planting today for county social worker killed last year

There is a special ceremony this morning to remember a Monroe County social worker who was killed last year. 26-year-old Bertina Forde died after being hit by an SUV while she crossed Saint Paul Street last November. Todays ceremony is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. at Highland Park County Executive Maggie Brooks will be on hand for the event. Vanessa McKinney is facing charges in that hit and run that killed Bertina Forde. She is charged with leaving the scene of an accident and running a red light.
