Frye became the first Browns QB to start consecutive opening days since Kelly Holcomb in 2002-03, but he was pulled after a 4-of-10 start for 34 yards with one interception in a 34-7 home loss to Pittsburgh in the season opener on Sunday.
The 26-year-old Frye, a third-round choice of the Browns in the 2005 draft, has started in 19 of the 21 career games he's played in.
Last season Frye started 13 games, going 4-9 as a starter, and was 252-of-393 passing for 2,454 yards with 10 touchdowns and 17 interceptions. His 64.1 completion percentage ranked second-highest in franchise history, behind Otto Graham (1953).
