Power outage on Monroe County's west side

By: WROC-TV
Updated: September 7, 2007
Power has been restored to all RG&E customers on the West Side of Monroe County who were without power Friday morning.  By 9:10, everyone was back on line.

RG&E says an equiptment failure on a transmission line is to blame for the outages.  Earlier Friday, approximately 28,000 people lost power in the Greece, Gates, Hilton and Spencerport.   That happened at 7:55a.m..

Spencerport cancelled school for the day.  High school students were returned home around 9:00a.m., Middle School students around 10:00a.m. and elementary school children were never picked up by the bus.
Also, St. John the Evangelist cancelled classes for the day.
