Greece Central rolls out eco-friendly bus fleet

"That'll reduce the pollution that these buses are emitting for our children on the buses, our school staff and for our community so we are doing are part to make the air clean,” says Kathleen Shero of the Greece Central School District.

"We didn't have to pay a cent for it nor did we have to use our mechanics to do the labor," says Shero.
"Our children deserve and have the right to breathe cleaner air."
Paul Tonko is the president and CEO of the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority. He says so far about 2800 school buses have been upgraded...that's about half of those in the state.
"As we deal with hundreds of thousands of buses to go we will clean up this air quality and make for a stronger outcome which I think is important," says Tonko.
