"I'm very happy with the two players I've chosen," said King. "We have solid Solheim Cup experience and we have a lot of youth and energy as well."

The top 10 on the list were finalized on Sunday after the Safeway Classic and no one was able to crack that group.

Paula Creamer led the points list and will be joined by veteran U.S. Women's Open champion Cristie Kerr, as well as Juli Inkster, Pat Hurst, Natalie Gulbis, Angela Stanford and Sherri Steinhauer.

Morgan Pressel, the reigning Nabisco Champion, Stacy Prammanasudh and Brittany Lincicome were the only rookies that made King's team.

Diaz has played in the last three Solheim Cups and posted a 5-5 record, including an unblemished 3-0 mark in singles. She has played well of late, with three top-10 finishes in her last five starts. That does not include a runner-up finish overseas.

Castrale is a Solheim Cup rookie, but won this year's Ginn Tribute Hosted by Annika. She has five top 10s this season and finished 11th on the Solheim Cup points list.

"I'm just so excited," said Castrale. "This means the world to me."

The European team was finalized last week. Annika Sorenstam, Suzann Pettersen, Catriona Matthew, Sophie Gustafson, Laura Davies, Gwladys Nocera, Trish Johnson, Bettina Hauert and Becky Brewerton made the team automatically.

European captain Helen Alfredsson selected Maria Hjorth, Iben Tinning and Linda Wessberg as her picks.

The Solheim Cup is scheduled for September 14-16 at Halmstead Golf Club in Sweden. The U.S. won the Solheim Cup in 2005, but the last time it was played in Europe in 2003, Europe took home the trophy.
