Homicide on Kirkland Road

Rochester police are investigating a homicide Thursday morning.

The victim, described as an African-American woman, about 25-years-old, was shot near 88 Kirkland Road around 2:15am. Police have questioned one man seen in the area riding a bike, but are not calling him a suspect, they continue to canvass the neighborhood.

The incident happened near Adlai E Stevenson Elementary School.

The woman's death marks the city's 34th homicide this year.
