breaking news
The Rochester City School Board has made a decision to include the public as it searches for a new superintendent.
Area residents will now have a chance to ask the two finalists questions.
This comes after criticism of candidates Tim Mains and Carlinda Purcell.
After their names were leaked to the media, the board decided to discuss their credentials in the open.
Up until yesterday, the board was tight lipped about the final candidates for the job.
The search for a new superintendent began back in October and with the help of a national search team the candidates were narrowed down to Purcell and Mains.
School board member Van White says the public will have a chance to question the candidates at a forum but no date has been set for that.
Both finalists will be interviewed by the school board on Friday.
