Overnight chase ends in crash

An overnight robbery ended with a small chase. Rochester police say around midnight, they located a car at Upper Falls and Saint Paul Street that was involved in an earlier robbery at the 7-11 on Lake Avenue. A small chase ensued and ended on Bay Street. It was then, the driver of the suspect vehicle, opened the car door and a state tooper hit the car.
Rochester police and state police credit "Operation Impact" for the safe pursuit. "...It's a team effort. It was really good communication throuh the whole pursuit, it was conducted in as safe as manner as could be conducted given that pursuits are dangerous to start with and everybody did a really good job," Neil Gallivan of the New York State Police says.
That suspect has been identified as 20-year-old Timothy Gordon. He faces robbery and assualt charges. Police say more charges could come.
