Volunteers are working to rebuild a home on Bay Streetnine months after a deadly fire there took three young lives.
Those volunteers are working with Habitat For Humanity to build this new home. You'll remember the fire on November 28th on Bay Street. It claimed the lives of Jaden Smith, Breana Johnson and Shyasia Bryant. Today - volunteers are helping that family rebuild this home.
The Pike Company donated labor of professional masons to lay the foundation for Kathy Bilbo and her family. Volunteers from all over the area are working to put the frame up today.
"I use to live in this area as a matter of fact, down on Box Street or many years, these were wonderful homes and I'm glad to see we have the opportunity to restore some of it," says volunteer Harry Messina.
Habitat For Humanity says the home should be done by February, but they are hoping to finish it in time to have the family in by Christmas.
Our Kevin Doran is out there volunteering; he'll bring you more tonight at five and six.
