marionmemorial2007-08-13-1187039322.jpgThey lived as they died... together. That's the message at Monday's funeral service for the Trude Family who died in a house fire in Marion last week.

"Good things do come from something as tragic as this," said Richard Borate, Danielle’s grandfather.

That's what family and friends are hanging onto as hundreds of mourners pour into Saint James Catholic Church to say goodbye to 26-year-old David Trude, Junior, 29-year-old Kelly Trude, 11-year-old Danielle Borate and three-month-old Kaitlyn Trude.

"When a fire burns down and a whole family is gone, it's a tragedy and it's so sad, but we're going to make it through this," said Borate.

Borate says the Trudes were celebrating their one-year wedding anniversary the night before they died. A fire cut short four lives early Sunday morning on August 5th.

"The four of them that died together for such young people they were so they touched so many people. It's almost like some people twice their age don't touch as many people as this crew did," said Father Bob Werth, from Saint James Catholic Church.

Family members delivered the eulogies. David also known as Junior loved motorcycles and above all else his wife and children. Kelly was the big sister, the protector, the one everyone went to for advice or for a home-cooked meal. Danielle loved soccer, singing and her little sister Kaitlyn.

"I challenge every one of you on behalf of Danielle and myself to make an impact on life, to help everybody, to be nice, to enjoy life, to be kind and that's the way she was," said Borate.

And despite only being three-months-old, Kaitlyn touched many people's lives with her smile.

"This family was really, really excellent, were role models for other families that are in the struggle," said Werth.

The Trude family was laid to rest Monday afternoon at the Oakwood Cemetery in Penfield.
