Fatal accident in Pavilion

One man is dead after a one car crash in Genesee County.

It happened around 8 p.m. Saturday on Route 63 in the Town of Pavilion. 28-year-old Michael Kennedy of Batavia was driving South on Route 63 when he crossed over the Northbound lane, hit a small tree then a big tree head on. Kennedy died at the scene. His passenger 25-year-old Bryan Walczak of Batavia was flown by Mercy Flight to Strong where he was treated and released.

The Geneva County Sheriff's Department is now investigating what caused Kennedy to swerve off the road.
