Update on "Troopergate"

TROOPERGATELATEST2007-08-11-1186889982.jpgThe New York Republican State Committee is calling on Governor Eliot Spitzer to appoint Attorney General Andrew Cuomo as a special prosecutor in the so-called "Troopergate."

Republicans say giving Cuomo full subpoena powers is the only way to get at the truth behind allegations the Spitzer Administration misused state police.

The GOP says this comes after Spitzer's Inspector General Kristine Hamann did not publicly disclose to the Attorney General her conflict of interest in her investigation into the situation.
