mowl_kevin12007-08-10-1186783468.jpgWe have an update on a Pittsford soldier, badly wounded in Iraq. Specialist Kevin Mowl's condition is slowly getting better.

Kevin Mowl has severe brain trauma, a cracked skull, and several broken bones. An improvised explosive device went off near his unit last week. Mowl is in the Naval Medical Center in Bethesda Maryland. His parents tell us that Specialist Mowl went back into surgery Friday to fix broken bones in his feet.

Specialist Kevin Mowl is being kept in a semi-comatose state, but his parents say he woke up twice when they spoke his name and that he's responding to nurses as well.

His parents’ online journal says that "his lips look a lot less swollen. He is beginning to look a lot like Kevin."
