Schumer among Senators calling an investigation of the Attorney General

Senators Chuck Schumer, Dianne Feinstein, Russell Feingold, and Sheldon Whitehouse called for the appointment of a special counsel to investigate possible wrongdoing by Attorney General Alberto Gonzales Thursday.
The 4 say the probe should originate with Gonzales' statements regarding the removal and replacement of several U.S. Attorneys.
Earlier this week, Attorney General Gonzales testified before the Senate Committee on the Judiciary in a Department of Justice Oversight hearing.
During questioning by several members of the Committee, the senators say the Attorney General gave statements in conflict with his prior testimony before Congress.
