chatman_stephon32007-07-26-1185498279.jpgThe FBI says a Rochester man ran a fake promotional business and bilked clients out of tens of thousands of dollars. 36 year old Stephon Chatman of Garson Avenue allegedly passed himself off as a talent booking agent, negotiating with at least 19 customers for more than $500,000. According to court records, Chatman allegedly got $68,000 from someone in Armenia, promising to bring them Latin star Shakira. He got $15,000 from a couple of Illinois residents who thought they were getting singer Justin Timberlake. And he got $20,000 from someone in North Carolina, securing an appearance by actress Eva Longoria. Chatman faces federal charges of wire fraud. He's being held without bail and is due back in court next month.
