TRAFFIC ALERT: Part of Inner Loop to close through Wednesday morning

Parts of the Inner Loop in downtown Rochester will close tonight because of a water main break.Around 11 Tuesday morning...the break happened in the eastbound lane of the Inner Loop, just east of the State Street entrance. Motorists were forced to maneuver around the fountain of water that gushed up from the cement. The city says it's not sure what the origin of the break is, but it's not related to pressure spikes, which caused the five water main breaks throughout downtown on July 12th.
To repair the break, the eastbound lane of the Inner Loop between 490 and St. Paul Street will be closed beginning at 8 Tuesday night. It'll remain closed through rush hour Wednesday morning.
