A serious accident in Sodus has sent 5 people to the hospital Monday afternoon.

The accident happened around 3 p.m. on Route 104 between Rotterdam Road.
Police say 22 year old Christopher Bastedo of North Syracuse was driving his Dodge Neon west on 104 when he crossed the center line.  Bastedo's car side-swiped a van driven by Ralph Suozzi of Spring Hill, Florida, and then hit a Subaru head-on driven by William Leitch of Wolcott.
The Neon then caught fire.

Bastedo and Leitch were airlifted from the scene to Strong Memorial Hospital.
Bastedo was listed in satisfactory condition Tuesday morning.
Leitch continues to recover in the emergency department.
Suozzi and his two passengers were taken to Newark Wayne Hospital with minor injuries.
Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
