Fairport woman admits she made-up attempted kidnap story

“She decided to tell the truth and that she was lying about the first incident,” said Fairport Police Chief Kirk Parsons. Just nine days after telling police three men tried to force her into a black mini van while she was walking home on park street in Fairport, 20-year old Keyonna King admitted she made the whole thing up. “She said that this thing got much bigger than she ever anticipated in the media the police investigation all that were involved its been weighing heavily on her mind and she decided to put an end to it,” Chief Parsons said. Its the second time in a few short weeks that someone was has been charged with making a false claim. Just last month a gates teenager claimed someone tried to abduct her as she waited for her school bus. Chief Kirk Parsons says King says admitted to having personal problems that prompted her to make the false report. Chief Parsons says they have to treat every claim as legitimate but false reports tie up resources and can paralyze a community. “Our time couldve been spent doping something else more productive. The citizens that heard about this story they became scared they don’t let their kids go out and play in that neighborhood, they keep them inside,” said Chief Parsons. King faces two misdemeanor charges of falsely reporting an incident and making a false written statement. She due back in court on August 9th.
