Camp Good Days announces plans for 2007 Teddi T

Mendon, NY ~ Camp Good Days and Special Times' Chairman & Founder, Gary Mervis, has announced the plans for this year's Teddi "T" Sports Fest. The Teddi "T" Sports Fest will take place on Saturday, July 14, 2007 and will include a number of exciting changes this year, in an effort to make this summer tradition throughout the Greater Rochester community an even bigger success!
3-on-3 Basketball Tournament
The Teddi "T" Sports Fest will again include the traditional 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament for males and females in a variety of age brackets. The 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament will be held in Parking Lot G on the Brighton Campus of Monroe Community College, 1000 East Henrietta Road. The 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament will begin at 9:00 AM on Saturday, July 14, 2007. Registration forms are available by contacting Camp Good Days at 585-624-5555 or 800-785-2135 or are available online at www.campgooddays.org. The deadline for registration for the 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament is July 11, 2007. No registrations will be accepted after the deadline. There will be a mandatory Player Check-In for all 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament participants from 12:00 Noon to 7:00 PM on Friday, July 13, 2007 in Building 10 at Monroe Community College. ALL PLAYERS MUST CHECK-IN ON FRIDAY, JULY 13th. There will be no Player Check-In on the day of the tournament.
Basketball Clinic with NBA Guard SAM CASSELL
The Teddi "T" Sports Fest will also include an expanded BASKETBALL CLINIC for males and females, ages 8-18, with Special Guest, Sam Cassell, Guard with the LA Clippers, along with St. John Fisher College's Men's Head Basketball Coach, Rob Kornaker, members of the Rochester RazorSharks Basketball Team, and Wendy Bleier, former Monroe County and Colgate University Basketball Standout. The Basketball Clinic, which is the only clinic being held that afternoon, will be at the Brighton Campus of Monroe Community College, 1000 East Henrietta Road, from 1:30 PM - 4:00 PM. Those who wish to participate must register through the Camp Good Days' website, www.campgooddays.org. A random drawing will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2007 during which 150 registrants will be selected and contacted if they are chosen to participate.
In addition, those selected to participate in the Basketball Clinic may bring their final Report Card, showing passing grades, to receive an Official Teddi "T" Sports Fest T-Shirt. Sam Cassell, Guard with the LA Clippers, attended Dunbar High School in Baltimore, which also produced NBA players, Muggsy Bogues, David Wingate, Reggie Lewis, and Reggie Williams. Cassell was named 1988-1989 High School Player of the Year. He began his college career as a big scorer at San Jacinto Junior College in Texas, and then transferred to Florida State, where he was a standout player for his final two seasons. Cassell was a member of the Houston Rockets winning the NBA Championship in both 1994 & 1995.
Baseball Clinic with MCC Baseball Team
A special Baseball Clinic, facilitated by Monroe Community College's Head Baseball Coach and Assistant Athletic Director, Skip Bailey and members of his team, will be held at the Brighton Campus of Monroe Community College as part of the Teddi "T" Sports Fest. The Baseball Clinic, which will be the only clinic held the morning of the Teddi "T" Sports Fest, will be from 9:30 AM - 12:00 Noon, and is open to boys and girls, ages 8-13. Participants in the Baseball Clinic may be invited to take part in an extended Baseball Camp, also at MCC, later in the summer. This special Baseball Camp, held in conjunction with Camp Good Days, will also include activities throughout the coming school-year. The Baseball Clinic is being offered free of charge for participants, however, PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. KICK IT Kicking Academy
The KICK IT Kicking Academy is also scheduled for July 14, 2007 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Growney Stadium on the campus of St. John Fisher College, as part of this year's Teddi "T" Sports Fest. The KICK IT Kicking Academy, coordinated by former NFL Place Kicker, Steve Christie and Gary Mervis, Chairman & Founder of Camp Good Days and Kicking Coach at St. John Fisher College, is open to any aspiring kicker including those playing youth, modified, junior varsity, varsity or college football and provides the opportunity for participants to improve upon their skills and techniques. The cost to attend the KICK IT Kicking Academy is a $100 donation to Camp Good Days, per participant. In addition to first class instruction, all participants will receive a complimentary KICK IT T-Shirt and complimentary copy of the KICK IT Instructional DVD. Steve Christie had a 15 year career in the NFL, kicking for the Buffalo Bills, San Diego Chargers and the New York Giants. Throughout his career, Steve supported Camp Good Days by making a donation for every successful field goal. His contributions helped to provide an Arts & Crafts activity area at the Camp Good Days' Recreational Facility, as Steve is also an artist. Steve continues to support the many programs and services of Camp Good Days by donating a percentage of the sales of his paintings. Most recently, Steve created the featured artwork for the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition and Camp Good Days' Wine Auction Dinner. In addition to his work as Chairman & Founder of Camp Good Days, Gary Mervis has been the Kicking Coach for the St. John Fisher College Cardinals for 17 seasons. Many of the players coached by Mervis during his tenure at St. John Fisher College, both as place kickers and punters, have been All-Conference; All-American and have gone on to play professionally in both the Arena Football League and Indoor Football League.
Talkin' Sports Dinner with "Rowdy" Roddy Piper and Special Guest, Sam Cassell!
The Teddi "T" Sports Fest will conclude with a separate Talkin' Sports Dinner. Following the tradition of previous Talkin' Sports Dinners, which featured: Don Zimmer, Tommy Lasorda; Sparky Lyle & Bucky Dent; Jerry West; and Marv Levy, Camp Good Days will present this year's Talkin' Sports Dinner with Professional Wrestling Icon, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, one of the pioneers of the World Wrestling Federation and host of the Piper's Pit Show and Teddi "T" Special Guest, Sam Cassell. The Talkin' Sports Dinner will be held on the evening of Saturday, July 14, 2007 at the Holiday Inn - Airport, 911 Brooks Avenue. The VIP Reception will be at 6:00 PM, followed by the Talkin' Sports Dinner at 7:00 PM. Attendees will hear from "Rowdy" Roddy Piper about his experiences going with and against some of the WWF's greatest stars, like Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, and Bret Hart. Attendees will also have ample opportunity to ask questions. Attendees are encouraged to dress like they are going to the arena for a match and arena style foods will be served.
VIP Tickets to the Talkin' Sports Dinner with "Rowdy" Roddy Piper are $125.00 per person and include the opportunity to meet "Rowdy" Roddy Piper and receive an autograph and photograph.
