Competitive position and market:
Although there are a few community based programs that target at risk youth, we do not view our organization as just another of these programs. Our vision and mission is not only to educate but also to utilize prevention strategies and provide opportunities for the young women of Rochester to be involved in activities to raise awareness of and focus on their educational goals, career paths, and social relations.
Colors:
Our organizational colors are white (purity) and gold (generosity and elevation of mind).
Services:
Sisters Together Achieving Results, Inc. has designed all of its services around the target population based on the needs previously identified. The services are grouped into 7 broad categories as follows:
Academic Awareness (graduation requirements, skill development to maintain and excel GPA)
Life Skills Counseling (education on: hygiene, etiquette, cooking, laundry, relationships, self-respect, leadership, self-esteem)
Career Exploration (career fair, mentoring, job shadowing, career presentation)
Job Awareness (resume writing, interviewing, job search, time management, job etiquette)

This distinction of service offerings, combined with an ever-present attention to high-quality, positive personal interaction, will separate STAR, Inc. from other community-based programs. Personal attention and personal service have always generated business, and we are confident they will in this case as well.
