The nominations for the Prom trends of 2007 are in, and with the season well underway, here are the top ten looks that will make you a surefire Prom winner.

1. BRIGHT LIGHTS
It's time to break out of pastels from Proms past and jump into a pool of fresh punch colors. Be it sunset orange, citrus yellow or popsicle pink, the brights are leading the way. Not bold enough for a complete dose, try choosing a dress with bright color accents.

2. OMBRÉ GIRL
So you think you need to choose one color? Not so. This season you can mix-it-up by wearing one, two or even three colors at once and look color-tastic! It's called ombré and it's genius. Not only can you wear all your favorite colors at one time but you can stand apart from the sea of solids and leave your stream of color.

3. BASIC BLACK
Well girls, it has been confirmed, black is definitely back. Don't shy away from it because of the ol' Prom pink dress fantasy. You can look absolutely dashing in a little black number. Show your bold streak, be different, and wear black.

4. GLITTERATI
It's a glitter melting pot - from beads to sequins, rhinestones to jewels and metallics to frosted hues. It's the hottest way to jazz up the plainest of dresses and the easiest way to transform into a true glamour puss. Inject a shiny dose of drama with must-have glitter accents and sparkle the night away, literally.

5. DETAILED DIVA
Flaunt your fashion IQ by adding some funk to your frock. Whether you choose ruffles, slits, overlays, ribbons or bows, or demure embroideries of garden flowers, butterflies or dragonflies, details will instantaneously add a personal touch to your dress and reveal your true style.

6. HEMLINE HEAVEN
It's all about the hemlines. And girl, are they aplenty this season 'round. There is long, really long, short, super short and everything else in between. Tea length, ballerina, asymmetrical, carwash, handkerchief, and on and on, everything goes. There is no right or wrong. Whatever length you fancy, you will be surely dressed to a tee.

7. HI-LO EFFECT
Those of you who can't choose between the formal full length or the bold attempt to go short, don't sweat it. Choose a hi/low dress- shorter in the front and longer in the back. Sound weird? Maybe, but the look screams glamour. Oh, and try walking into a room full of long gowns. I'm sure you can guess- all eyes on you!

8. SHORT & SWEET
Ok, so you don't favor this hi/low look and you definitely don't want to go long. Well, you are in luck because short has become the new long. Short dresses are popping up everywhere and in all different lengths. From below-the-knee tulle dresses to ruffled mini confections, Prom dresses are a changin'.

9. PROMY-WOOD
Who said you can't look like your favorite Hollywood celebrity? So you saw that yellow chiffon dress on your fav celeb and have been dreaming about it ever since. Well, your dreams may just come true. A celebrity-inspired dress for Prom is a hot ticket and your backstage pass to shining like a true star.

10. TRAIN 'EM
Yes, train them. And no, not your dates, your dresses! You can have a short one - a duster or a longer one - a chapel. Whether you opt for the duster or the chapel, trains can turn any gown into a romantic fantasy. Fit for a true Prom Princess.
