Gilda's Club Walk for Wellness

The event takes place at the Greece Ridge Center Mall, Ridge Road West , on Sunday, Feb. 11. Proceeds benefit Gilda's Club's Noogieland, a unique art and activity based program where children touched by cancer can talk about their feelings as they participate in activities.
In conjunction with the walk, Gilda's Club will be selling carnations at this year's Bone Marrow Drive on Feb. 10 and 11 at both Greece Ridge Center and Marketplace Mall. In addition, Valentine's Day roses can also be pre-ordered. Prices include $50 for a dozen red roses, $25 for six roses and $5 for a single rose with free delivery of flowers within Monroe County with an order of two dozen or more.
"Gilda's Walk for Wellness is instrumental in supporting our mission to provide, comfort and support for local cancer patients and their families," said Veronica Lee, Executive Director, Gilda's Club Rochester New York. "We are extremely appreciative of the tremendous support we receive from the many participants, donors, sponsors, partners and volunteers and are looking forward to another successful event."
Registration for the event begins at 8:30 a.m., with the mall walk kicking off at 9:30 a.m. In addition to the walk, the event will also include children's crafts, activities and excerpts from Greece Athena Middle School Theatre's performance of High School Musical. The Rochester Pipe Band will lead the first lap around the mall and snacks will be provided courtesy of Bruegger's.
