Just One Campaign

"Just One" kicks off today with a mailing to every household in the 144-145 and 146 area codes. Watch your mailboxes because the envelopes will be delivered to the main Post Office this morning.
© 355,000 envelopes will be mailed. Next Thursday, another 55,000 envelopes will arrive in the Weekend section of the Democrat and Chronicle to subscribers in parts of our area.
♥ We are getting the word out via TV, Radio, Newspaper, Direct Mail, Interactive and Bus Shelter Advertising throughout the community.
♥ Additionally you can visit our website, alsiglcenter.org, watch a short commercial, and donate via credit card to Just One.
© All told, we are hoping for between 30 – 35,000 responses. Last year we got over 5,000 back the first day!
© Envelopes are available at all Wendy’s Restaurants in the Greater
© Off a great start with generous underwriting and gifts from:
-Wendy’s Restaurants
-Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield
-GRIPA – Greater
-Harter Secrest & Emery
-M&T Bank
-RG&E
-Betlem Services Corp.

© Just One is in its 17th year and since its inception has raised over $2 million.
© Best part of Just One is the heartwarming stories and notes that we get in the mail
-Thanking us for asking for Just One dollar and then giving more
-Letters from kids and their parents telling us that this is their first charitable donation
© Average gift last year was $4.91. (highest ever!)
© Just One breaks all the commonly understood “rules” of direct marketing
-February is a bad month for direct marketing
-We only ask for one dollar. (not enough)
-We target broadly to the entire community (should be narrow and focused)
-We don’t constantly change the “offer” (17 years in a row)
-We get a phenomenal response rate (6-7% rather than 1-2%)
-We mail mostly to occupants rather than specific addresses (not personalized)
© Thanks to the Post Office for handling our mail drop of 355,000 pieces at the same time and getting them all delivered on the same day.
