Bills to open season on MNF

ORCHARD PARK, NY – The Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots will open the 2009 Monday Night Football schedule on September 14th in Foxborough, MA at 7:00 PM, the NFL announced today The Bills will make their third Monday Night Football appearance on Kickoff Weekend in team history. The Bills are 1-1 in their previous two games (9/16/74 vs. OAK, W 21-20; 9/13/76 vs. MIA, L 21-30). September 14th’s game will mark the second meeting between the Bills and the Patriots on a Monday Night stage in series history (New England defeated Buffalo 27-14 on October 23, 1995 in New England). Against AFC East opponents on Monday Night, Buffalo is 9-8 overall and 8-5 in road games. Since 1960, Buffalo and New England have met seven times on Kickoff Weekend with the Bills holding a 4-3 advantage. Buffalo is 1-1 on the road vs. New England on Kickoff Weekend. September 14th’s meeting will mark Buffalo’s fifth primetime contest vs. New England.
