Marshawn Lynch is in trouble with the law... again.
Lynch was arrested Wednesday in Culver City, California on a concealed weapons charge. The Culver City PD released a statement about the arrest Sunday. Lynch was booked just after 7pm Wednesday night and released at 8:45pm on 35,000 dollars bail.
According to the statement, officers spotted three men in a 2006 Mercedez Benz and recognized Lynch. A further investigation revealed the loaded weapon inside the vehicle and that it belonged to Lynch. He was immediately arrested.
The Bills acknowledged the arrest and that Lynch has retained an attorney.
Lynch was involved in a hit and run investigation last spring in Buffalo. Two problems with the law will likely earn Lynch a significant punishment via the NFLs code of conduct policy. Gun safety has been a hot topic in the NFL since Giants WR Plaxico Burress accidentally shot himself in a nightclub late last season.
Heres the complete statement from the Culver City police:
On Wednesday evening, February 11, 2008, Culver City police officers were patrolling the Fox Hills area of Culver City when they contacted three male adults seated in a 2006 Mercedes Benz. Upon contacting the occupants, they learned one of the subjects was Buffalo Bills running back Marshawn Lynch. A subsequent field investigation led to the discovery of a loaded firearm. The officers determined the gun belonged to Lynch and he was arrested for possession of a concealed firearm. Lynch was transported to CCPD, booked and later released on bail. The case will be submitted to the District Attorneys office for filing consideration.
