Rautins Doubtful For Wednesday

By: Thad Brown
Updated: January 26, 2009
Andy Rautins likely will not play at Providence on Wednesday. The Syracuse guard suffered a severly sprained ankle in Sundays loss against Louisville. At practice Monday, head coach Jim Boeheim said he didnt think Rautins would play on Wednesday. The Orange also lost freshman Mookie Jones for the year. Jones opted for season-ending surgery on his nagging hip injury. By quitting the season now, Jones keeps alive a possiblity for a medical redshirt. That option would be unavailable had Jones played in two more games this year.
