SUNRISE, FL – Florida Panthers General Manager Jacques Martin announced today the club has reassigned C Shawn Matthias to Rochester (AHL).
Matthias, 20, earned his fifth recall of the season on Jan. 6 and has played in 16 games with the Panthers this season, averaging 9:09 of ice time with two assists and 11 shots on goal. Matthias has played 24 games in Rochester this season recording three goals and an assist.
The Panthers have picked up nine out of a possible ten points in their last five games, most recently defeating the Atlanta Thrashers 8-4 on Saturday afternoon. Florida hosts the Philadelphia Flyers on Friday, Jan. 16 at 7:30 p.m.
