First responders were called to Island Cottage Road around 1:00 A.M. Friday morning.
The female officer's car had slid off the road, and hit a RG&E utility pole.
The car was stuck at an angle between a chain link fence and the pole.
Investigators believe the slick road conditions contributed to the accident.
The officer couldn't get out of the car because of nearby live wires.
"If she had tried to get out of the vehicle, the situation would have been much more severe than it was," explained Greece Lieutenant Richard Downs.
The officer was taken to Strong Hospital for a small cut on her hand.
