McTavish is adjusting to his new temporary home at Lollypop Farm. The miniature Schnauzer mix is part of a possible abandonment investigation.
"The dog was in good condition, good shape; he was a little afraid at first but he is coming around to the staff here," investigator Reno DiDomenico said.
It was a Thursday afternoon when a mall security camera caught two women dropping off a small dog outside of Lollypop Farm's retail shop. Lollypop Farm says the women never went into the store. Abandonment is a crim that can come with jail time and/or a fine. But law enforcement needs to know more.
"There could be depending on the circumstances, we are still investigating; we really would like to talk to the owners of this dog or these people so we can get a better idea about what happened," DiDomenico said.
A medical history and other information about the dog is needed so that they can adopt him to a good home. Lollypop Farm is asking anyone who may have been at the mall and saw what happened here on March 7th to call them at (585) 223-6500..
