East Irondequit Teacher's Aide Charged with Rape

A teacher's aide in the East Irondequit Central School District has been charged with rape Friday.

Police say 46-year-old Jennifer Kennard befriended a middle school student three years ago and became involved in a sexual relationship.

Kennard has been a teacher's aide at the middle school since 2009. She has been placed on administrative leave. Kennard was arraigned Friday night but at last word was still in custody.

Police tell us they should have more information on Monday.
