The judge set a preliminary hearing date for one week from tomorrow for Ryan Whidden, 31.
Whidden is facing gun and other charges from the incident that drew the SWAT Team, bomb squad and dozens of armed law enforcement officers to his Jacob's Landing neighborhood earlier this week.
Police were called to 34 Ketchum Street after neighbors reported Whidden had fired several shots at parked cars and into the air. He kept his wife, 45 year old Nina Whidden, inside the home for what turned into a nearly 12 hour standoff. Police eventually fired tear gas into the home...forcing the Whidden's out of the house. No one was injured. Whidden is accused of possessing a loaded handgun without a permit.
Walking out of court, Whidden mentioned he coulldn't talk to the media at this time, but smirked and said we will have our chance one day. Whidden's attorney, Leanne Lapp, had no comment. Whidden is being held in the Ontario County jail on a quarter million dollars bail.
