Police are searching for a suspect in two shooting incidents that left four people dead in Herkimer County Wednesday morning.

Police say Kurt Myers, 64, is armed and dangerous. Investigators say he may be connected to the two shooting incidents: one at Gaffey's Car Wash in the village of Herkimer and one in the village of Mohawk. Two people were killed in each incident. Our Syracuse sister station, WSYR-TV, reports that police and SWAT teams have converged on a jewelry store on North Main Street in the village of Herkimer. They have not indicated that a suspect has been taken into custody.

Our Utica sister station, WUTR-TV, reports that Herkimer County Community College, Herkimer Central School District schools, Mohawk Central School District schools, and Herkimer BOCES are on lockdown. HCCC sent a notification to staff and students saying that police are looking for a man in his mid 60s who is 5-foot-11 with white hair and a white beard. They described the man as armed and dangerous. At the time of the incident, the person they are looking for was wearing a flannel shirt.

We are awaiting a press conference with Governor Andrew Cuomo and State Police Chief Joseph D'Amico. We will bring you more information as it becomes available.
