Kearney Handles Jamestown To Make Final Four

Chinonso Obokoh finished with 12 points and 19 rebounds as Kearney got past Jamestown 53-41 in the Class AA state quarterfinal at Blue Cross Arena Saturday night.

The Kings trailed 14-9 after the first quarter, but allowed only 15 points in the next two quarters combined to build a nine-point lead heading to the fourth quarter. Kearney quickly built the lead up to 15 points and cruised home.

Thomas Bryant had a big all-around night with 12 points, 13 rebounds and six blocks. Alvin English finished with 11 points and seven rebounds while Antwoine Anderson chipped in with 11 points as well.

Tommy Campion led all scorers with 20 points for Jamestown.

Kearney will next play in the state semifinals Friday afternoon at 2:30pm against Troy from the Albany area. The semifinals and finals are at the Glens Falls Civic Center north of Albany.
