Rochester Man Sentenced In 2006 Rape Case

By: WROC-TV
Updated: March 8, 2013
A Rochester man convicted of rape from a 2006 case finally learned his fate.

25-year old Ronell McFadden was sentenced Thursday to 60 years in prison.

McFadden broke into a woman's home and raped her at knifepoint. He also threatened her baby.

It took until 2013 because the Monroe County District Attorney's Office said a mistaken identification led to the arrest of an innocent man in the crime.

DNA evidence led to the arrest of McFadden and the other man was set free.

The 60-year sentence is the maximum McFadden could receive.
