Fire And Shooting In Kendall

One man is in custody after Orleans County Sheriff's Deputies say he shot his wife, set their home on fire and then shot himself Monday night.
Deputies were called to Peter Smith Road in Kendall shortly after 7 p.m. Investigators say Linda Buehler was shot in the shoulder by her husband Dennis. She fled the home and called for help. Deputies say that's when Dennis set the home on fire, walked out of the house and shot himself in the face.
Firefighters were unable to attack the fire initially because the area wasn't secured.
Linda Buehler was taken to Strong Hospital where she is listed in guarded condition this morning. Dennis Buehler is listed in satisfactory condition. He'll face charges after he recovers.
The house was destroyed by the fire.
