The rescue efforts to find a man who was swallowed by a sinkhole under his Florida home have ended.

On Sunday morning county officials held a news conference announcing that the house would be demolished using large construction equipment.

They say the process will be done delicately to salvage as many of the contents inside the house as possible. Officials say rescue workers have to move beyond the search and focus on the demolition phase in order to secure the site.

Despite the equipment and specialized personnel they were unable to determine where the man is. At this time investigators don't believe they will ever be able to recover his body.
