Jared Tallo fired the shot that Hildebrand tipped in and had the game tying goal on a Knights power play late in the second period. Christian Leonardi opened the scoring in the first period off a feed from Michael Capicotto.
Aaron Jones and Robbie Michel each scored power play goals for West Genny in the second to briefly give the Wildcats a 2-1 lead.
The game winner came just four seconds after the game was delayed by a serious injury to a West Genesee player. The player was favoring his left wrist and knelt at center ice for more than five minutes. He was taken away by ambulance.
McQuaid's next game will be Saturday, March 9th in the state semifinals at the Utica Aud. Faceoff is scheduled for 5:45pm, but the Knights will be playing the fourth of four games that day.
