A complaint filed in State Supreme Court will now bring the SAFE act under view by a judge.

Governor Cuomo's office says a man from Warren County and a coalition of other New Yorkers filed a complaint in hopes of putting a temporary restraint on the SAFE Act. A judge denied the request, but has agreed to review the arguments. At the center of the complaint is the claim that the passage of the SAFE Act violated the state's constitution by bypassing the state's three-day-review requirement before votes on legislation.

A spokesman from the Governor's office issued a statement saying "we believe the law is, and the process was valid and constitutional."
