Dr. Tom Campbell, from Highland Family Medicine joined Katrina Irwin Thursday morning to talk about Celiac Disease. 

It's an autoimmune disease triggered by wheat protein that makes the small intestine ineffective.
You can be tested for celiac disease with a blood test and upper endoscopy

1 in 133 people without risk factors may have celiac. Those in higher risk groups (those with symptoms, those with relatives, associated conditions) are more likely.
