The McQuaid Knights have found themselves in up-and-down games all season long, but in the Sectiona V final, there was no doubt which team was in control. The Knights scored twice in the first period and twice in the third to win 4-0 over Penfield.

The run in the sectional playoffs by Penfield is the stuff of legend with backup junior goalie Meghan Browning helping the 7 seed Patriots up-end the 2 seed and defending sectional champs from Pittsford in overtime. On Wednesday, Penfield rallied to knock off Webster Schroeder in overtime to reach the sectional final.

Ryan Talty and Tyler Gokey scored the first two goals for the Knights. Michael Capicotto and Michael Campbell tallied the others for McQuaid.
